The ongoing humanitarian project “Make a WISH,” by the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Serbia, has once again been accomplished with the purchase of equipment for Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) which is used to relieve pain and spasticity in children with cerebral palsy. For these young patients the only possibility for medical treatment was to be sent abroad, at the expenses of the National Health Service. With the acquisition of this equipment, surgeries can now be performed in Belgrade.
The project was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, LDS Charities, Manpower Group Serbia, including the personal participation of director Aleksandar Hangimana.
In recognition of its effective and longstanding humanitarian work, the embassy was honored by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
