Visit to the ADLIGAT Association – Museum of the Book
24/10/2024

Ambassador Francesco Maria Amoruso, accompanied by the Embassy staff, visited Adligat, the Museum of the Book in Belgrade, where he participated in a guided tour led by director Mr. Viktor Lazić.

The Adligat Association is grounded in the long-standing tradition of the Lazić family, known for its commitment to preserving cultural heritage. Its mission is to safeguard and expand a rich library collection built over nearly two centuries, spanning nine generations, to promote culture, art, and international cooperation. The name “Adligat” comes from a bibliographic term referring to a collection of diverse books bound together. This name symbolizes not only the unity of multiple works but also the connections between generations, cultures, countries, and peoples—all brought together under one roof in a single institution.

During the visit, the director presented just a portion of the museum, showcasing some of the most interesting artifacts and extremely rare book editions. They also agreed on a collaboration between the Embassy and the Museum, which will include the creation of a special section dedicated to the Order of Malta.
