On May 14, a meeting was held at the Embassy of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta in Belgrade, presided over by H.E. Ambassador Francesco M. Amoruso. He was joined by Minister-Counselor Nenad Prokić and Counselor Stefano Podavini, along with representatives of the LDS Church of Jesus Christ—A. Sarager, Marcinelle Sarager, and Mr. Davide Lotito, Head of the European Office. Also present was Mr. Igor Mitrović, President of ADRA, the humanitarian organization of the Adventist Church in Serbia.

The meeting focused on the pressing issue of widespread poverty across the countries of the former Yugoslavia—particularly in Serbia, where 45,000 people live below the poverty line, including 10,000 in Belgrade alone. Participants discussed in detail the possibility of launching new short- and medium-term humanitarian projects.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with an invitation to an upcoming event bringing together partners involved in various initiatives, followed by a summit to be held between June and July. The summit will focus on evaluating a promising long-term project aimed at supporting the Western Balkans.
