The Embassy of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta in Belgrade expressed its profound sorrow at the passing of Pope Francis, together with the rest of the world.
As a gesture of mourning, the embassy’s flag was flown at half-mast beginning Tuesday morning.
The next day, a delegation led by Minister Counselor Nenad Prokic and Counselor Stefano Podavini visited the Apostolic Nunciature, where they conveyed condolences on behalf of H.E. Ambassador Francesco Maria Amoruso to Apostolic Nuncio H.E. Rev. Mons. Santo Gangemi and signed the condolence book.
On April 25, Minister Counselor Prokic attended the memorial Mass celebrated by Mons. Gangemi together with the bishops of Serbia at the Cathedral of Belgrade, in the presence of H.E. Ana Brnabić, president of Serbia’s National Assembly.
