The first phase of the “Make a WISH to the Sovereign Order of Malta” is to raise awareness among parents and families concerned of the scope of this new and important project of the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Serbia.
\nThe \u201cMake a WISH\u201d, in its third edition in 2017, implies that parents and the medical staff giving assistance to children ( under age of 18 ) carrying difficult pathologies and in need of surgery that requires particular and rare skills, have the possibility of informing the Embassy of the Order of Malta in Belgrade of their situation and their needs.<\/p>\n

Thus, some of these difficult medical cases that can\u2019t be resolved in due time, will be taken care by a team of foreign surgeons that will arrive to Belgrade for the purpose and it will be organized by the Embassy of the Order of Malta. The above mentioned cases should be priorly reported to the Embassy of the Order of Malta in Belgrade, with a complete documentation and detailed written description of the pathology, drawn by the medical staff (doctor or hospital) in charge of the case. \nThe State Public Service RTS and its journalist Jelena Petrovi\u0107, conducted an interview at the Embassy of the Order of Malta with the Ambassador Alberto di Luca, the Assistant for international issues Dr. Zoran Mihailovi\u0107 ( at the cabinet of the Minister of Health, H.E. Zlatibor Lon\u010dar ) and the Project Manager of the \u201cMake a WISH 2017\u201d professor Nenad Proki\u0107 who presented the project in detail.
\nDr. Mihailovi\u0107 has renewed the appreciation of the Serbian Government for this initiative as well as for the numerous humanitarian, medical and social activities implemented in the country over the last seven years. The Ambassador Alberto di Luca has framed the initiatives developed in Serbia within the broader context of the millennial mission of the Order of Malta, today active in 120 countries on all continents.<\/p>\n
